Bass Nerd Alert: Geddy Lee and No Treble
When I was 12 years old, I bought Rush’s Moving Pictures on vinyl. I was strictly a double bass guy at the time, but I wore that record out – particularly the track, “YYZ.” I was an instant fan, and that’s been going strong now for 39 years, thanks in large part to bassist Geddy Lee.
If you had told that 12-year-old that one day you’d not only have Geddy interviewed, but he’d also post a shout out about something you wrote, I would have thought you were nuts.
But that’s what happened over the last 12 months. First, Mitch interviewed Geddy in person for No Treble’s Groove podcast.
Then a few days ago, Geddy posted on Instagram about how his signature pedal was the #1 reader favorite for 2019.
I’m not sure if he’s noticed yet, but Geddy was also the #1 reader favorite bassist on No Treble for 2019. Well deserved too.
The kid in me (and the adult) is geeking out.
